Who really founded Singapore

In my opinion I think that William Farhquar actually was the founding father of Singapore. He came here with Raffles but after signing the treaty, Raffles left Singapore and left Farhquar incharge. Farhquar formed a police force in Singapore to mantain order and discipline in the country. By doing this, there were only a few people who would have tried to steal from the other villagers as the police might come after them .He realised that there were many pest in Singapore like the mice an centipede. He then came up with a scheme to kill all these pests and he would reward the people who killed them. By doing this, he saved many people's lives as if not for the scheme many people would have died from these pests when the pests bit them. Whatever Farquhar did was great as Singapore transformed from an unknown island to a country which is clean and green with alots of high rise buildings compared to those in the 18th century

But it was because of Raffles determination that allowed Singapore to be under the british.
