Did the Industrial Revolution affect the way people lived and worked in the 19th century for the better or the worse?

In my opinion, it happened for the better as it has changed many people's lives an it has allowed everyone to have advances in technology. For example, in the 18th century, the making of cloth by hand was a slow process but after the invention of the spinning machine, the process became easy, fast and the goods made were of better quality. This also help create jobs for people as many of them started working in factories. Another example is the steam engine. The invention of the steam engine helped ships travel at a faster speed so that the ships would take a shorter time to reach their destination. In this process, coal was burnt in the steam-engine to turn water into steam. the pressur from the steam provided energy for machines. Due to this, trains and steamships were invented.
